HELP! DID SHE JUST RUIN OUR $2000 TV?!

My sister and her friend were trying to be nice and clean our house today.  We have an LED TV and there are a lot of smudges on it and I tried wiping it with our LED wipes but it does nothing.  I asked my sister what the girl used and she said she thinks she used windex.  So far the screen looks fine when we are watching TV and I only notice the smudges but could she have caused any damage to it?  Like will it burn out faster or something?  I know nothing about this stuff and I do NOT want to draw dh's attention to it.  Anybody know?  Trying to google it but not really getting anywhere.

Windex shouldn't cause a problem.

Windex shouldn't cause any problems. Generally though with electronics, it is always better to spray on the the paper towel first and then wipe down the area.

Sounds like she probably just touched the screen as she was wiping if there are smudges everywhere.

It will be fine. I sprayed mine with windex and tried to clean it once. It left marks on the tv.I told dh what I did and he told me where the LED spray cleaner was.I used it a few days later and the screen is clear.

Maybe some of the windex got inside a groove and seeped in

Let it dry out a few days if possible

Sounds like a short
Check the cords if on the floor
Maybe someone vacummed the cord up and its cracked somewhere

Lol, I use alcohol free baby wipes on all of out electronics, Microsoft uses basically the same on there's. Tv should be fine it mostly is the screen that is smudgy from the sound of it.

I don't use windex on our TV screens that's because our TVs are very expensive....I just use this little blue towel thing that the store recommend.
