Do you have one of those names.....

...That you desperately wish your parents would have thought about before naming you it? For example... All the terminator jokes for people named 'Sarah Connor' or 'John Connor'. The fact that you may have a cousin named Wednesday Adams. (I have a friend with that name. She hates it and wants to get it legally changed.) Your name is Adrienne and for some reason everyone you know has to make a Rocky joke. Those names like Perfection or Paradise. (I have two nieces with those names) Or one of those terrible names that sound like a pornstar name like Anita Cox or something similar. A name featured in a very popular song that for some god awful reason people still remember. And the list goes on... I have one of those names and I hate having to introduce myself because I know what's coming and I hate it. Do you have one of those names or would you ever think of naming your children one of those names just because you really like the first name even if it causes them to resent their name and/or you?

Nope. I mean my name is kind of difficult for a lot of people to pronounce, but I never really got made fun of for it.

My last name is a lot of people's first name (Lindsay), and whenever I'm at the doctor's office or somewhere like that they call me Lindsay thinking it is my first name.  Kind of annoying but not really my parent's fault.

No, i have a nice name. So do my girls. Not cutesy, dumb spellings, or a name no one can pronounce. Too many do not seem to think at all when naming kids today and that they will be 70 or 80 someday also.

Fortunately, no, I don't, but my mother's maiden name is Cox and I actually have a cousin named Anita, lol. She goes by her middle name, Renee.

No, my girls have normal names, normal spellings. Poor kids already have to spell and prounounce their last name.

yup, I do... and on top of that, my name has a "non-traditional" spelling (or pronunciation).  My entire life, well, since elementary school, I have had to spell AND pronounce my name for everyone, and since High School, odds are good that upon hearing my name, SOMEONE will burst into song... and then say something like, "I'll bet you never get tired of hearing THAT..."  um... yeah.

When I adopted my foster children, I changed my daughters name from the stripper/porn star/hooker name her BM gave her... and when I chose names for her, her brother, and my third baby girl, I believe I was mindful of the idiocy that sometimes invades and overrides rational though...

trust me... your child will not thank you for that unique and "special" name... If you really must name your child "SupaStar Magnumman", give that name to your furry dog-child, not your human child.

No, but my nephew names his kids weird. Just In Case and Violet Rage. I could have killed him. Fortunately the 3rd one has a anormal name.
