I finally got my one year old on a sippy cup. But it's one of the really beginner ones. When do I level him up on the sippy cups?

didnt realize there were different ones.  I just used the soft tipped sippy cups and I prefer Gerber brand because the caps are interchangeable.

I can't remember. Lol whenever you feel he is ready. Mine was on a sippy at 3 months, beginner and by 5/6 months was on a no spout sippy

When you think he/she is ready. my 20 month old GS uses straw sippy cups.

My son has used straw cups since he was 10 months old, he has never really gotten the hang of traditional sippy cups.

Depends on the kid. Buy different ones and keep offering new kinds.

with dd we bought the hard tip ones but it took awhile for her to adjust to them.  we just kept trying them until eventually she liked them better.  i think she was about 2 when she started using those.

I just started with soft one first then once use to the idea then it didn't matter which kind. All your preference :) mine chewed the soft ones up after a while
