Fake or real christmas trees? I always loved the feeling of picking out your own christmas tree, but I'm thinking about the cost effectiveness of fake trees.

What do you guys think?

We just put up our fake tree. Real trees are too messy

Of course a real tree isn't necessary but I prefer the real one.  I voted doesn't matter though.

We did fake because I love trees and I hate that they are cut down for just the holiday. As a kid we got a real tree and yes, it was fun picking it out, but sometimes the only trees left were either too long/short, sparse, or crooked.

Fake as we live in a small apt.

I prefer real ones, but we have a fake one right now.  I plan to leave it up until Spring when DH gets home.  lol

Fake ones as a backup can be a great idea.  If your real tree dries out early, the cat/kids knock it over, etc you have a handy replacement.  If you find your budget coming up short, you've already got a tree up in the attic.

I think if you really deck it out, a fake tree looks just as nice as a real tree.
