At what age should a child be cut off from breastfeeding?

For example, is THIS too old?

I, personally, wouldn't nurse a child past 12-18 months.  IF I still wanted them to have breast milk I would pump and put it in a cup.  But that's just my preference

i personally think I would stop breastfeeding at would be around age 2. I would however pump. Or let them wean off when they are ready to..

I only say this because with my two children there were too many factors involved to why I couldn't go past the time period that we did, I wish I could of gone much longer it just wasn't in the cards for us at the time.

The child in the pic is WAY too old to be breastfeeding. If you want them to have breastmilk at that age pump and put it in a cup.

Same here.  I nursed my 4 kids until about then.  They start being independent and use sippy cups.

I know this lady that was nursing her kindergarten son.   He was no longer interested in nursing really but she'd make him come over from playing at the park and "tank up" so he wouldn't get dehydrated.  Made me wonder who she was really nursing for.

After 18 months, in my opinion, is weird.
