You had a friend for many years. She already "disappeared" once on you without saying a word the day of your baby shower. She all of a sudden appears when you give birth, but without an explanation as to why she kept away for over a month. You accept her in because you found out why she kept away (it was a legit reason). Now you have been there for her through all get difficulties the past six months, even though you feel things aren't the same as before. Now all of a sudden she does this little disappearing act again. She's not picking up her phone, no email, no text, nothing. Mind you, things were getting better with her and her difficulties. Do you even bother with this "friend" or just forget about her because she obviously has issues?

I cut them loose. I don't like fair weather friends.

Cut her loose or accept her for what she is.

I wouldn't make any extra effort towards her, but I'd be nice if and when she decided to show back up. We wouldn't be best friends or anything, but I'd remain cordial.
