Do you let your kids go barefoot or crawl around on the ground in parking lots?

Out at the mall today, I saw this woman sitting on a bumper of a car talking to another lady. There were a couple of kids about 3yo or so wearing no shoes and running around while a couple of infants shook rattles and crawled around on the pavement. I'm all for letting them play and be "free" a bit outside, but in a parking lot?

Would you let your kids go shoe-less and crawl on the pavement in a parking lot?

Ew no! People spit, pee and other nasty stuff on pavement! In my personal backyard they run barefoot, but never at public places and never in a parking lot.

No, you never know what kind of filth or biohazard there is in a parking lot.

No!! It is the ground, so there will be lots of nasty stuff down there! Just the gobs of spit are enough to turn me off!

Nope. My kids don't wear shoes until they are efficient walkers, but they also don't walk around parking lots until then.
