My son was accepted to a charter school through lottery which is a great opportunity. We visited on Saturday and he's extremely excited.
This means that he will have to wake up extra early (6:00am leave by 6:30am) as the school is in Manhattan and I live in another borough. Not only am I excited as this is a great school, him going to school in the city is convenient for me as I work less than a half an hour away where as he used to go to school over an hour away from my job. You can imagine how frustrating that is when you get a call from the school nurse that he has to be picked up (it has happened).
While I love the fact that he is closer to me I feel bad that he has to wake up and leave so early. I'm just curious what time do your kids leave to go to school? What time do you send them to bed? Is it hard for them to get ready in the morning? My son is not a morning person :)
