Have you dated an effeminate man?

I have been divorced for 3 years and have just recently starting dating this sweet, sensitive gentleman who doesn't judge me for my past and accepts my daughter. It's been amazing having this caring and understanding man in my life.

However, some things make me question his sexuality. I have homosexual friends and don't hold sexual preferences against anybody.

My boyfriend and I have had sex 3 times since we have been together. I initiate because he admitted he isn't as sexually experienced. His only sexual experience was a girl in high school practically forcing the sex (he says he didn't even thrust back and she did all the work). He doesn't like porn, which is different than stereotypical men. I love sex and I enjoy porn. He was timid to touch me and once even did a girly gesture with his wrists when I let him feel around because he was nervous to feel me. He dresses very fashionable, even better than me at times. He loves to shop, likes chick flicks, loves pop songs by women, says porn is okay but the girls should just put their clothes back on & he would rather watch a video game trailer, the way he dances and walks at times is a bit girly, and he is open to his emotions. We connect amazingly on a mental and emotional level.
But sometimes he does gay impressions and they are pretty convincing. My mom thinks he might be gay and my daughter pulled out a dress for him to wear when she wanted to play dress up and called him a lady.
We did have a talk where he said he was straight but not athletic or strong. I know we place a lot of stereotypes on how men should and shouldn't be. I am not asking for relationship advice. I know that I am dating on the opposite end of the spectrum- I usually go for guys I know will put it down in the bedroom and who are roughnecks, tats and beards. But they didn't do much for me.
Have you or would you date an effeminate man?

No, I couldn't get into that at all. I just wouldn't find it attractive and all that you stated would be a big turn-off to me.

No. I prefer men who are a bit tougher than me.

If your happy that is all that matters. When you get others opinions into a relationship it could start issues. So just be careful cause there can be some mean ones out there.

Are tomboys all lesbian?

You get hyper-masculine testosterone fueled rough men who are attracted purely to other men.

And you can get low-testosterone gentle men who are attracted purely to women.

If anything, maybe he is asexy, or just has a low libido.

I would. Give me an art museum going, wine and cheese loving, gentle man anyday over a hypermasculine asshole.

When I was much younger, I did date two effeminate men, back to back.  They both turned out to be gay, and used me to stay in the closet.
