Happens every time, is it normal?

For as long as I can remember a few days before I have a period I have brown spotting/discharge every month. It happens 2 or 3 days before I have a period I never have cramping or anything, Until I full blown get my period. Every time I go to my obgyn she says everything looks fine. Except she thinks I may have polysystic ovary syndrome from having an IUD.
Does anyone else have this happen? And is it normal?

I didn't have it often when I had my IUDs (Mirena, then Paragard), but since getting rid of Paragard, I have it sometimes and now my period is nonexistent for the second time since having Paragard removed.

I always got that the day before the floodgates opened. It was never a concern for any ob/gyns I had.

I believe it's fairly common.

Perhaps you should mention it to your physician, probably nothing but just to be thorough. : )

Yeah, I have that too. I have it mostly on the last 2 days. I was freaked out too the first time I observed the change in colour. But my friends confided that they have the same thing going on. I later on checked and the website said that since it is the last bit of discharge that's why it appears a different colour. I haven't spoken with a doctor though. I should go and just check it out I guess.
