Baby vomiting

Hey all I have a question:

Well my son was playing and acting normal then all of a sudden I heard him making a gasping noise like he was choking on something, he coughed then threw up. I was watching him and he didn't put anything in his mouth. I didn't even feed him anything weird.....just the normal food I give him. After I cleaned him up and his mess I checked his temp via rectal (my poor baby :(
and he didn't have a temp. The only thing I could think of is maybe he got too much mucus in his belly and threw that up (he has a runny nose). So has this happened to anyone? Could you please help me out?

To much drainage can absolutley cause vomiting,  My kids are 3 and 5 and have awful allergies and it happens to them whenever it is really bad.  You can usually tell the difference because they cough so bad first.

It may just be a random thing.  Just watch him and see what happens.
