My daughter is 12 years old. She has these episodes that she gets very bad stomach aches. they are so bad that she crawels in a ball and crys. then its not long she starts to vomit. she has done this for 3-4 years. there at one time she did it 1-2 times a month. she starts in the morning and vomits all day till mid afternoon till she has had dry heaves for an hour or so. i took her to ther Dr several times. one Dr said it could be reflux and other said allergies. they had me keep tack of what she ate before the episodes. nothing was out of the norm. everything she ate was things she ate before and didnt get sick on. One Dr have her Pedisure. I didnt think something that simple would work. but when she drank the Pedisure off and on through out the month the episodes stopped. she hadnt had an episode for several months now. she ran out of Pedisure and we didnt get her more. she still went a few months without the Ped and not had an episode. This month she has had 2 so far. Today is one of those days. I woke up with her at the foot of my bed in a ball crying and begging me to take her to the Doc. then she ran to the bathroom to vomit. Im going out today to get her some Pedisure. I hope it helps get her back on track. This tells me that she muct be lacking something in her diet. She is a very tiny girl for her age ( only weighs 70 pounds) She also has Kidney problems. When she was young she had a kindey ruflux and alot of infections with it. The infections damaged her kidney. the top part of her right kidney stopped working. it takes a longer time for that part of her kidney to drain then the rest of her kidney. we seen 2 specialist about it. I asked about her diet and stomach problems. they didnt say anything special about it being related to her kidney. so i dont know what could be causing her problem. im sooooo very worried. i dont want this to be something that doenst get noticed till its to late and causes damage ( like what happened to her kidney) does anyone have any idea what this could be? any advice on how to handle the Drs?

I have a best friend who had those type of episodes for years, especially before her period.  When she FINALLY went to the gyno, they told her she had endometriosis, which is what was causing the throw up, etc.  They put her on the pill, and she is able to survive through her period a lot better these days.

Also, if your daughter has kidney issues, I would check on that to see if it is causing something.

Good luck,

have you tried lactose milk?  i am pretty sure pediasure is lactose.  it sounds more serious than her being lactose intolerant but I don't know.

When I read the first coupe sentences I thought, maybe she has gas, but it's obvious that's not the problem
I would take her to see an internal Dr., or a gastro specialist.
Maybe a cat-scan would find something also.
I hope everything works out for the best, I hate seeing kids in that kind of pain.

I would be the doctors worst nightmare..... what you are describing is not normal... i would take her to the ER and tell them listen i am not leaving until someone tells me what is wrong!!!! When i was little i was lactose intolerant and i had horrible episodes......... does she go #2 normally.... she could be constipated..... I have found (as a mother of 4) and have gone through many sicknesses.... colds, ear aches, coughs.... etc...... but when it was serious and i knew it and they would try and tell me different.... i was like a bull in a china shop..... i wanted answers and i wanted them yesterday and you know what.... my gut  feeling was always right when they tried to tell me otherwise!!! You have to be persistent and do not take she has allergies or whatever else they told you.... Her in excruciating pain and vomiting on a regular basis is not normal!!! Good luck to you!!! I know how helpless you must feel not knowing and not being able to help her at this point. Please keep us posted !!!

Wow..my DH does the exact same thing!!! He gets cramps and it hurt so much he crawls in bed and totally look GREEN!! Then he trow up all night+ the day after..sometime a little longueur, it goes on about every 3 months or so,sometimes 2 times in one months, he is gonna have an ultra-sound soon to check his colon and all. The only  way we found to make him feel better is for him to take Gravol, but, please don't do this unless you talk to your doctor about it.He takes Gravol because that way he stop trowing up and gets to sleep it off a little ( Gravol can make someone extremely sleepy). I am sorry this is happenning to your Daughter, i hope they will figure it out soon,i understand your fears, i fear for my husband myself when he has those episode...i will let you know if they found anything with the ultrasound..

She has had problems with going #2 but most of the time its not around the same time as her episodes. i took her to a Dr again today. He sent out some blood tests on her for food allergies. if the tests doesnt show anything she may have to see a specilist. he was asking if there was any history of ulcers or Chrones disease. I told him as far as i knew there wasnt any history. but i dont know my fathers side of the family so i can never answer a question like that very well.

Hi there, no need to ask you how you are. My son who is just a few years older than your daughter used to have these problems also. Pains used to be be bad, he couldn't lay on his sides, on his back nor his stomach. I took him to the Drs. they could find anything. He used to have the pains and nausea. So finally I took him to children hospital ER and they found that he had Blockage.  I know someone asked you about her #2 habits.  Blockage is very dangerous because you might see the child go to the bathroom but he/she is still constipated way up in his/her colon, even if the stool is super soft, if you know what I mean. That's why they have nausea and or vomiting.  They told me to give him hot water, it works very slow and the child is so miserable with pain.  My sister who is an RN for over 20yrs. and she is very much into holistic meds, told me to make him some senna tea for maybe a few days in the week. Senna leaf is a natural laxative.  She told me to make him drink a lot of water and give him 1/2 cup of prune juice every night as a natural stool softener. I have been doing this for him for years and he's been fine with the grace of God. I did the senna tea for about 2 weeks and for a few months after that 1/week.  Ask her every day whether she went or not.  I have to ask my son everyday if he went #2 or not because you know how they are. Even my daughter who is older I have to make sure she goes everyday.  When he is blocked, he would tell me mom I don't feel well, and I would feel so helpless.  But yeah, that's my experience I hope I was of some help. In the mean time I pray that she will be alright. Please send me word about how she is doing.

God is good all day, every day!

Oh I forgot, keep her away from refined flour things like white bread, white rice, a lot of pasta and feed her a lot of vegies and high fiber stuff.  My care is with you.

God is good all day, every day!

I would definately find a specialist for her!  It could be a simple problem she has... but thats the thing... you never know.  Make sure when you make the appt. with the specialist that they have a complete and thorough medical history on her.  Including the kidney problems, how long it's been going on, how long it lasts, and all those details.

What you explained sounds like what my mom had and the first doc said he couldn't find anything then the next doc misdiagnosed her and a nurse actually was the one who said to look up info on her gallbladder she had to get it removed but it could also be blockage her vomiting is the stool prob staying in her body too long therefore making her sick and in pain....alos her going #2 does not always have to be around her episodes
