The Cafe The Cafe

I'm bothered by this, I don't think it's sending the right message! PIOG

I sat down to eat at a late lunch, cup of noodles, lol so I was trying to find something to occupy my 16 month old while I ate. I don't usually eat lunch and don't watch TV really except the early morning with the kids shows. And half the time I don't turn those on. Anyways, I was looking to see what was on Nick. Well, a commercial came on advertising the kid choice awards 2008. It was a boy singing about how he didn't want to go to school, and he didn't want to ever see the teacher's face again! Well, i don't have school age children yet, but I wouldn't want my son to see that. I think they need something encouraging, not saying stuff like that. JMO though! What do you ladies think?

It is terrible!!!  They have a cartoon called Johnny Bravo(or they used to) and it showed the main character looking at a cartoon porn mag!!!!!  I saw it at a friends house and decided right then and there no cartoon network in my house!!!!!!
Quoting redhotmommy:

I've never seen cartoon network either lol

I would much rather my kids watch nick than cartoon network.  Cartoon network has been banned in my house since I had kids.  My kids pretty much only watch Disney.  I do not believe it is tv or video games that cause children to misbehave it is lack of parenting.

100% agree here.  My daughter just naturall does not watch much TV so there is no need for me to put a limit on it.  She spends most of her day after school and homework outside.  If she is inside with the TV on she is usually barely paying attention to it.  She knows it is all pretend and I have taught her right from wrong and what is real and what is not, that is my job.

First i let my kids watch tv Playhouse disney, Jetix batman superman power rangers.

Tv does not rot the brain, stupidity rots the brain. Kids will be violent tv or not. ITS YOUR JOB AS A PARENT to take responsibility of your childs actions and not blame TV or Video games. Dont like it Dont watch it. and most kids hate school anyway. its not like they are going to drop out and work at chuckie cheese the rest of their lives right after seeing it. I taught my kids right and wrong yes belle is 3 and gavin 16 months but they know what no means and they know if i say it not to do what they are doing. They know not to hit or push. its about parenting your children.

Actualy yo gabba gabba was created by pro skaterTony Hawks.  He made it for his kids or so that is what I have heard!  I let my kids watch it and they love to watch it.  It does not matter what we like but what it educational for our kids.

I dont' have kids yet...prego with my first...but I believe in screening what kids watch.  They are so gullible at any age
