I posed this question back in Dec in another group. The recent post "man with Down syndrome gets knocked out for kicking a child" received a lot of negative comments about Down syndrome and I thought it would be interesting to hear if you were told your child was going to be Ds what would you choose to do?
I was very saddened when I recently learned that 90% of women that are given a Down syndrome diagnosis choose to end their pregnancy.

I have seen a couple people I know get a positive on the down syndrome test, decide to keep the baby and the babies were born perfectly normal and healthy. I would never abort, especially due to the results of this test. I refused the test when I was pregnant, it was irrelevant to us.

I had the test done because I wanted to know so I could be prepared if there was a possibility.. I would have wanted to research downs and know what I was up against but I would have never aborted. That would still be my baby and on top of that I have heard so many people have that test come up as positive and it was wrong

Same here. Children can be born with all different types of disabilities. Why should Downs be any different, just because you can test for it, during pregnancy? I chose not to take the test, because I would love my child no matter what.

I refused on every pregnancy to take the test. I see it this way..if my baby is meant to have Down syndrome or anything else the nit is just meant to be. I will still love him/her the same
