LEARN HOW TO FREAKING DRIVE OR STAY OFF THE ROADS!!!!! (Edit, so no one thinks I'm out for drama!!)
I DON'T MAKE POST VERY OFTEN, BUT I REALLY NEED TO VENT THIS!!!
TODAY FOR THE 2ND TIME IN A MONTH I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN A WRECK THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN. THE 1ST TIME I WAS SITTING AT A REDLIGHT WAITING FOR IT TO TURN GREEN. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN, SO WHEN IT DID TURN I HAD TO WAIT FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHEN THE COAST CLEARED THE LIGHT WAS STILL GREEN, SO I PULLED OUT. JUST IN TIME TO HEAR TIRES SCREECHING AND A BUMPER LESS THAN 2 FEET FROM MY DRIVER DOOR. I GUNNED MY GAS IN JUST ENOUGH TIME TO GET OUT OF THE WAY TO AVOID A WRECK.
THEN TODAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, I WAS DRIVING IN A 4 LANE THAT TURNS INTO A 6 LANE IN THE BUSIER AREAS. I NEEDED TO STOP BY THE STORE FOR A FEW THINGS SO I WAS IN THE FARTHEREST LANE TO THE RIGHT. A TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE LANE MUST HAVE GOTTEN TIRED OF GOING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, SO WITHOUT LOOKING SWERVED INTO MY LANE ON A MOMENTS NOTICE. I ENDED UP HITTING A CURB GOING ABOUT 45-50 MPH, AND MY CAR COMPLETELY OFF THE HIGHWAY. WHAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF THOUGH WAS THAT AS SOON AS THE TRUCK SWERVED TOWARDS MY CAR I HIT THE BRAKES, MY TIRES WERE SQUEALING AND EVERYTHING. I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO EVEN HIT THE HORN. SO WITH MY TIRES SCREAMING, THE TRUCK NEVER ONCE TRIED TO AVOID HITTING ME, THAT'S HOW I ENDED UP COMPLETELY OFF THE ROAD.
SO MY VENT FOR THE DAY....IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE....PLEASE STAY AT HOME!!!!
Thanks to everyone that realized that this was just a vent. No, I was not in the wrong either time. I am not saying that I am or ever was a perfect driver. But I AM responsible enough to drive without using road rage. And I have NEVER ran anyone off the road just to pass a car!!! I live in Alabama, so I know it's not the same as bigger places, but I have a baby that's almost 11 months old. My biggest fear is having a wreck with her in the car and something happening to her over some stupid bullshit like rush hour traffic. I was just implying that people need to be more considerate of other drivers.

I get that you need to vent. but I don't get why you have to type in all caps. yea some people just can't drive, but I'm sure you've made a couple mistakes before too like cutting someone off too close because you were in a hurry, not using your blinker or braking too quickly because you were looking somewhere else and didnt realize what you were doing.
I have to say this but it's going to sound bitchy so you've been warned. if you are turning left then you will be in the wrong for the most part, sinc eyou are going left and against traffic.
As for the semi, if you were at a safe distance then you wouldn't have had to swerve to miss him when he went into your lane. a safe distance is far enough back where you can see road between the end of your car and the bottom of their tires.
you always have to be careful, more careful than the others driving so always play it safer than you think you need to.

Did you actually read her post? She said she was almost t-boned. So hit by cross traffic that had a red light. She would have been in the right. And since when can you not pass a truck in a seperate lane? If she was in her own lane she need not be following "at a safe distance" because technically she wasn't following. If he swerved into her lane it would have been his fault for any resulting accident.
How are people supposed to "learn to drive?" and still stay off the roads...
im just sayin.... lol

I almost got hit yeasterday too. I was in the right hand lane on the highway and all of a sudden this guy cuts me off. I slam on m breaks and whale on my horn. When i slammed on my breaks the car behind me almost hit me. They were way to close to me! I was so pissed. I was already having a horrible day and that made it worse!

It was a possible T-BONE. The car was NOT from the opposite direction.

Quoting madsmom636:Do you live in Florida??? that's how it is down here ALL the time...they don't stop at red lights or stop signs, and I honestly think that blinkers are optional in this state...
I'm pretty sure Floridians are the worst drivers in America.
What I really hate is when I try to move over a lane and the guy speeds up so I can't get infront of him. People here are such douchebags.

if you are turning left on green light and someone t bones you then they ran a red light and you are in the right,I know what you mean to op sometimes I think Im the only on who knows how to drive, lol oh as for the semi I have almost recked sevral times because they think they own the road
Wow, I'm glad your ok! I was almost broad sided this winter because the snow banks were so big. My pet peeve is when the 2 lane street turns into 1 lane and people speed up and try to pass everyone on the right.
