I DON'T MAKE POST VERY OFTEN, BUT I REALLY NEED TO VENT THIS!!!
TODAY FOR THE 2ND TIME IN A MONTH I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN A WRECK THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN. THE 1ST TIME I WAS SITTING AT A REDLIGHT WAITING FOR IT TO TURN GREEN. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN, SO WHEN IT DID TURN I HAD TO WAIT FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHEN THE COAST CLEARED THE LIGHT WAS STILL GREEN, SO I PULLED OUT. JUST IN TIME TO HEAR TIRES SCREECHING AND A BUMPER LESS THAN 2 FEET FROM MY DRIVER DOOR. I GUNNED MY GAS IN JUST ENOUGH TIME TO GET OUT OF THE WAY TO AVOID A WRECK.
THEN TODAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, I WAS DRIVING IN A 4 LANE THAT TURNS INTO A 6 LANE IN THE BUSIER AREAS. I NEEDED TO STOP BY THE STORE FOR A FEW THINGS SO I WAS IN THE FARTHEREST LANE TO THE RIGHT. A TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE LANE MUST HAVE GOTTEN TIRED OF GOING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, SO WITHOUT LOOKING SWERVED INTO MY LANE ON A MOMENTS NOTICE. I ENDED UP HITTING A CURB GOING ABOUT 45-50 MPH, AND MY CAR COMPLETELY OFF THE HIGHWAY. WHAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF THOUGH WAS THAT AS SOON AS THE TRUCK SWERVED TOWARDS MY CAR I HIT THE BRAKES, MY TIRES WERE SQUEALING AND EVERYTHING. I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO EVEN HIT THE HORN. SO WITH MY TIRES SCREAMING, THE TRUCK NEVER ONCE TRIED TO AVOID HITTING ME, THAT'S HOW I ENDED UP COMPLETELY OFF THE ROAD.
SO MY VENT FOR THE DAY....IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE....PLEASE STAY AT HOME!!!!
Thanks to everyone that realized that this was just a vent. No, I was not in the wrong either time. I am not saying that I am or ever was a perfect driver. But I AM responsible enough to drive without using road rage. And I have NEVER ran anyone off the road just to pass a car!!! I live in Alabama, so I know it's not the same as bigger places, but I have a baby that's almost 11 months old. My biggest fear is having a wreck with her in the car and something happening to her over some stupid bullshit like rush hour traffic. I was just implying that people need to be more considerate of other drivers.

The only time that I have been aware of the driver behind me was when I was stopped for a red light and the jerk behind me started hitting my back bumper. I looked in my rear view mirror and wrote down his license plate number. After he hit my bumper again, I shouted out his license plate number while sticking my head out the car window and looking in his direction. Then the light turned green and I started driving down the street and he hit my bumper a couple more times. (I didn't have a cell phone!)
I turned off onto a side street and headed back to the store because I didn't want him to know where I lived. He continued down his street and I never saw him again. After a couple of blocks, I turned and headed home.
I called the pd when I got home. No wonder the guy didn't recognize his license plate number, he was a bank robber in a stolen car! WITH A GUN! (and I was sticking my head out the window yelling at him???)
LOL stop signs and red lights, not car colors.

when i worked for an insurance company they said the following colors of the vehical may have an impact on your insurance cost (meaning grater cost) Black, Red and Yellow due to they are very easy for a cop to see on radar and the accident ratings

I bought a brand new car 10.5 years ago. It's been hit 1 time for every year I've owned it. 1 of those was my fault and I paid out the ass for a freaking SCRATCH that I put on her car. I've left tire on the road more times than I care to even think about. Appearantly red ISN'T a universal color
I almost got in accident today from some lady trying to push me off the road then she gave me the middle, people need to learn how to drive!!! I agree with you!
*Happily married to Erik and proud mommy of a toddler and an infant* Isabella and Camden*
I've had that happen once... right up until there was a pole then I pushed back, side swipe a car is far better then hit the pole. I turned my car into their stupid ass. They stayed away from me after that. UGH!!!!

I tottaly agree. I was almost in 3 accidents today. The 1st one was an old man was driving on my side of the road. He could barely see over the steeringwheel. The 2nd A teenager ran a red light, THANK GOD i was slow in going thru MY GREEN LIGHT. The 3rd time an old lady was driving behind me and tried to pass me when a car was coming the opposite way(i was on a 2 lane street) I was able to move over just in time. It was in downtown where there is no passing. Come on i drive a red van can they not see me?
I agree any one should be able to see a big red van. What were they thinking? Big Red, the old man thought you were a stop sign! The teen thought, before you crank up that gas hog and expose 10 gal of gas to global warming, I'll be dead any way! The old lady thought, if any thing happens, I'll talk my way out of the ticket with sex and if that doesn't work, I'll lie and say I'm having contractons and I'm on my way to the hospital to have a baby! LOL
LOL! Thanks i needed a good laugh.

Are you kidding me??? My bil has a Peterbilt rig and it's like riding in a Cadillac! Not only does he have mirrors but he also has a camera for backing, switching trailers, and checking clearance.

Oh; wow my car got 397%; I have a white Mercedes and I swear I drive like it's a Ferrari. Today I was doing 80-90 down the highway in 2nd gear as there was no-one around. But never with the babies in the car and I was taught by a professional driver too.
But yeah there was a lady on the street before mine going 20 and the speed limit is 50 and I couldn't belive it; I passed her.
And on the highway I had an 80 something year old couple wanted to race with me; they were going 90 down the highway with the windows open laughing like crazy.... Hey; they are still having fun....
