I have a big ol' American bulldog who is a stinky butt ( his nickname) and I also have carpet. He doesn't pee and/or poo on the carpet but his smell is everywhere so I'm wondering if someone could reccomend a really good small carpet cleaner for me.Again I'm looking for something that isn't oversized but works well thanks.
DOnt know how well it works(im still waiting for someone to apply to my post) but I was looking into one of those SHARKS they look like thay might be really good.

my grandmother has a shark, it is totally worthless... however a mama in another group that I am in has one and LOVES it! I suppose its all in what your expectations are, mine are set high... If i am paying for a cleaner, I expect it to clean, other wise, I will stick to my baking soda sprinkles for smells, and vinegar for what those cant get!
Obviously i have no suggestions, other than using baking soda like a carpet deodorizer, just sprinkle it on, let it sit for a half hour then vacuum it up! Obviously it wont smell like flowers, but the odor will be gone!

He is on a special diet because his breed of dog has certain allergies. He is eating Iams lamb and rice and he isn't allowed smoked bones or wet food. Bulldog are suceptiable to smelly gas and such but its just the dog smell that is killing me lol. Thanks everyone for the advice I will check all the suggestions out.

oh and what are you feeding him? THAT could be his problem too.
The shark steam mop is awesome. BUT i dont think it's very good for carpet. It gets my wood floors shiny clean.
Other then that, I'm not sure what kind of steam mop would be very good... good luck :-)

I'm on my 3rd Bissell Quicksteamer lightweight. I think the first one was blue, the next was purple and now we have the green one.
I have light weight carpet, no padding. I was told that if you use the household steamers on carpet with padding that it will cause molding to the padding.
The instruction say to use hot water in the tank. Also to use carpet cleaning detergent. If you put bleach, pine-sol, or ammonia in the water, it becomes hotter and melts the works inside the cleaner. That is what happened to my blue one!
It is a steam cleaner not a shop vac. Although it sucks up water, it shouldn't be used to clean up standing water when the washer over flows. That's what happened to my purple one!
I have been much more respectful of the green one and it's still working great!
We checked out the more expensive steam cleaners. The water tank is about the same size and the power is also the same. I think the difference is that some have attachments for cleaning upholstery.
Bissell makes a great rug shampoo for pet odors. It really works!
LOL! I know that allergy sort of, my lab is allergic to peanuts and she has HORRIBLE knock-you-over-breath. UGH! Still looking for the "cure all" food that both of them can eat. I have a pug too.
