ok so my son is 2 and a half... hes had some health issues.. now when he gets mad or we scold him he hits himself.. or smashes his head on stuff. like if he throws a tractor and we say...we do not throw tractors he'll pick up the tractor and throw it into his face like 3 times then cry it hurts. i know the just falling back and hitting his head is him just throwing fits. but he hits himself all the time. i just dont know what to do...

I would talk to your Dr but it sounds like this is him temper.  I know a girl who gets mad and has to throw something.  ANYTHING!!  As soon as she does she's fine but until she does she's on edge.  I would be concerned because he's hitting himself which is why I suggest talking to the dr.  Also after he hits himself how are you reacting to that??  I know it's hard because you love him and want him to be ok but I wouldn't give it to much attention.  he might be doing it so you will hold him and cuddle him.  GOOD LUCK!!!!

i tell him to stop hitting himself its naughty to hit anyone.. i dont give him much attention for doing it cuz i dont want him to associate those things.. like when hes throwing a fit i usually ignore it.. it seems to make them shorter. we cuddle all the time i stay at home and we play all day... it scares me cuz hes been on steriods and is coming off them and i know they mess with the brain. he will be going back on them soon..i know there will be fits lol hes 2 and he talks ok so i know he can communicate whats wrong.

I would definitely talk to his doctor (the one that put him on steroids).  In the meantime can you give him a little pillow or something soft to bang on the floor when he gets mad?  Good luck!
