  • It's not . But after seeing that unemployment is 9.5% that's scary.

  • i know i can't imagine what these poor people do after they lose their jobs--especially after many years of being employed there in some cases!

  • Financially we are doing well. However, my DH is now required to take 10 unpaid days off before 2009 comes to a close. His company is hurting a bit, and that is scary.

  • we are doing MUCH better...LOL.

we paid off all our debts last year, we also sold a few houses overseas, i finished my bachelors degree in criminal justice, working towards my masters now, got a fantastic job, and have about 50% more income than we did last year at this time, with only one of us working.  he stays home with the kids.

perfect timing for everything on our part.  we got REAL lucky.

dogs are my people.  i fight for them, i cry for them, i pray for them, i help them, i talk to them, i rescue them, i hug them, i love them, i raise their spirits, i bring them back to life, i foster, i adopt, i put the worthless 2 legged beings who abuse and neglect them behind bars.  i am their halo, and they are mine.

PLEASE....have a heart, adopt, do not support backyard breeders or pet stores who sell puppies, do not sell your animals on craiglist...they are not the old sofa, spay and neuter, report animal abuse, donate, volunteer your time, obey laws, teach your children respect towards animals, do your part in the fight against animal cruelty.

  • The news says it's going to hit 10% next month. I hope it does get better for anyone who is struggling.

  • thankfully the poor economy hasn't really had an effect on us...we are super thankful for what we have and know that we are incredibly blessed...

  • Well I work for a nonprofit so donations are down.  My department actually bills medicaid so we bring in a lot of revenue.  Because of the economy many more people have medicaid but we are falling short on donations and grants.  Beareavement leave was just cut.  They just did the budget and we have no spend down funds, it just has to go back into the agency.

My SO works as a union stage hand.  Surprisingly, there are still concerts and shows going on and he is relatively busy . . . but at the end of the day we have NO extra money.  We have enough to cover our bills but we can't go out to eat, we don't have any expendable cash just for miscilaneous things, day trips, nothing.
