If she's honestly scared, I wouldn't take her. To me, that just seems cruel. JMO, though :)

My son is afraid of every little noise and when we took him to the fireworks last year we sat in the car the whole time while he cried. :( We are still going to try again this year though. You never know. *crossing fingers*

Maybe you could take her, but watch the show from somewhere that the sounds arent as loud.

My DD is 3 next month, and she slept through  half of the fireworks show the city put on last night. She was awake when it started but passed out about half way through.

We are going to take Everett this year. He turned 2 in May. I think he will just like to see the colors in the sky. I don't think the noise will bother him too much.

I think your friend is right. Give it a shot; if she doesn't like them you can always take her further away from the noise or maybe watch them from the car, so the noise isn't so loud.

google fireworks and show her some video's of them. Explain to her they are loud but beutiful, don't make a big deal out of it act like its the coolest thing you've ever seen if you go and she cry's just leave. they will be there next yr.

This sounds good to me- that way she can see them and how pretty they are and maybe realize the noise isn't going to hurt her?

I think is a good idea! around here, they always have a certain radio station that plays music to go with the display. Maybe you can sit in the car and turn the music up so she can still see, but maybe not hear as much, just to get her used to it, you know?

we've been taking my daughter to air shows every year since she was like 4 months old. we just go to walmart and buy ear plugs before we go. we have to do the same thing on the 4th of july and new years eve. shes now 2 1/2 and she loves looking at the fireworks but hates the noise.. the air shows she absolutly loves and if youve ever been to one, they are like 100x louder then any firework show. i just recomend ear plugs and you can get a thing that has like 100 and they dont go bad if you leave them wrapped up. they are down the isles in the medicine area by the pharmacy. it doesnt block out the noise 100% but it eliminates a lot. and if she doesnt like them in her ears, which most dont, the moment the noise starts, put them in. if she takes them out, shes going to want them back in. or if you have any ear muffs from xmas left over.. put those on her they work too.

I would take her, but leave if she gets upset.
