Happy 4th! I wished mine was going better. I need to know what you think and your opinion on this situation...I am a teacher at a private school and my daughter also attends there as well. I get a great discount for her because I teach there and I pay monthly. So today I get an email from the owner saying that my daughter will not be attending there as of monday. I was on vacation for 2 weeks in June and have not payed yet. But overall am very good at paying. Also I have a pretend supervisor who does not know how to help run a business. I think she said something to the owner about me. Ohh and also I got yelled at for throwing away expired tortilla shells on Friday by the Co-owner. When I asked the supervisor, she had no clue of what to do just like always. So I had to take matters into my own hand. So with this being said I need some advise. Do you think it's because of the missed payment or because of something deeper? Need your opinion..

In reference to the missing payments I know private schools (and most any private settings like that) expect payment when it's due regardless of circumstances and are all within their own power to not allow that person to attend. The private school my friends daughter attends if you are as little as a day late with payment you can be asked to leave the school and they will do it.

    Interesting!

  •  It is much deeper than the missing payment, they are trying to push you to quit. If you quit, you will be very unlikely to get unemployment. Whereas if they have to fire you, you will more than likely get unemployment. I would be very careful what you do while at work, they are looking for a reason to get rid of you or making you quit.

Maybe I am missing something here but what about the child? How do you explain to a child that in just a couple of days she will not be attending her regular school with her friends and everything that is familiar to her?

I would find a way to catch up this payment and try to keep the child there for now but I would seriously consider why I chose to send my child to a school where no one cares about her emotional well being. It is just wrong to rip everything the child knows out from under her with no notice.

Bravo! Yeah, I've been dealing with this issue for awhile. It's just hard finding centers that will pay decent, will let me bring my child, and allow me to teach. We get a good deal and great discount. I was a public school teacher and stay at home mom. Then wanted to find something where I can work and have my daughter close to her. I like my job, my daughter's happy, but the so called supervisor is clueless and the owners are too busy running 4 schools. So it's been a battle.

Thanks for your reply, yep you were right! They did everything they could to push me out.
I am no longer working there and my boss told me that it was my fault that my daughter no longer attends. Can you believe that! So they tried to get me to say that I resigned and tried to have other employees witness that I said this. It got pretty nasty. I'm fighting this but my question is should I get a lawyer?

  • I choose because of payment for the simple fact wether or not your child is attending at the moment you still have to pay. Also it might be something deeper. Who knows with people till you actually are able to speak with them. That is what I would do!
