Ha ha, nope. This is just about my 3rd and 4th of July at Riverpark campground. :)
I wasn't really expecting much today. There are no fireworks aloud out there, but the spot is BEAUTIFUL. The day was spent among family and friends: Mom (MIL), Dad (FIL), Hubby, Christian, and friends fromt he camp next door, Dave and Lisa. We were right next to the Nolichucky River. The spot where we were was the home to some pretty awesome rapids. The roar was loud and the water was fast. The view was breathtaking.
Yesterday (the 3rd) we grilled hot dogs and hubby and I went swimming. Christian was also able to play in the water, though not as much bc the temperature was in the high 60's at that point int he mountains.
Today we grilled brisket and, though Christian and Scott did not swim, me and my Father-in-law decided to wade across the river above the rapids and then walk down to a beach ont he other side.
When we got to the other side (man was I feeling accomplished, lol) Dad decided to jump off of a big rock, lol. It was fun to watch. :)
After that me, him, and his friend Dave (who swam across to meet us so HE could jump off the rock, lol) we all swam back to our side. It was invigorating. Until then i hadn't realized just how good a swimmer I was, and until yesterday I hadn't been in the water for about 4 1/2 years. The two days were wonderful, and we all had a blast, though I think Christian had the best time of all.
It looks beautiful!!! I bet it was fun to sleep with the sound of rapids.
It really does look beautiful....it must have been soooo relaxing an lots of fun!!! Oh and by the way your lil one is so frikkin cute.
