I was wondering what the average 25yr old pays for insurance on a "newer" car...mine is an 03 elantra and i pay $695 for six months with a clean record. it seems high to me. especially since it just went up for nothing!
Hi , I'm a licensed agent in NYS and that is pretty basic. It also depends on your credit history , if you have bad or good , too little or too much. The newer the vehicle also helps. If your record wasn't clean it could double what you pay now. Hope that helps.
My name is Stacey , I am 34 . Mother to my Miracle PCOS son Shawn JR , Still in love with Shawn Sr. after 16 years , Licensed Cosmetologist , Notary & Property and Casualty Agent , Scorpio , Honest , Loving , Genuine.
Iam 23 and my Dh is 33. We have 2 mini vans. One is a 99 and the other is a 05. We have full coverage on the 05 and liability on the 99. We pay 99 and some change monthly. So 6 months would be about 600. We both have clean driving records.
All you can do is shop around. Iam sure there is somewhere cheaper than what you are paying. We have progressive.
With Progressive you are getting a married discount , multi car discount , probably a few different safety discounts on the vans , so your 99 is probably costing you about 200 something , while your 05 is probably about 400 since you probably have a lien w/full coverage. If your ages were switches , you would be paying double that.

What state do you live in , and who do you go threw for insurance? Are you married?

seems just a bit high but it also depends on many factors; your driving record, where you live & most companies now factor in your credit. if you combine your auto & Homeowners insurance with the same company you should get a pretty good discount. you may want to opt for a higher deductible if yours is currently under $500, think about bumping it up to that. if your car is equipped with an anti-theft device ask your agent if you are getting the discount for that. ask your agent what use they have your car listed as; cars driven for pleasure use and low mileage will be rated lower than cars being driven to work and/or 7500 miles a year or more. some companies give discount for non-smokers & insureds with certain occupations, like teachers or clergy. and always shop around, but you want to make sure you have your coverage with a reputable company in case you ever need to file a claim.
