ugh I wish my back would stop hurting PIOG

So my back is messed up from the epidural I had when I had DS last November. So now my back hurts every so often at night mostly. But lately it's been almost every single night. It gets to hurting so bad sometimes that it's hard to breathe. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to relieve it? I've went to the doctor and all he did was give me pain pills and a muscle relaxer.
