As I have posted, Molly's ST suggested an assessment on her older brother, Liam, and we did it and she found him 6-8 months behind JUST ENOUGH TO GET HIM ON THE PROGRAM AND ON HER PAYROLL! Well, maybe it was denial but I knew she was wrong and we took him to his Doctor and then for a second referral with an ST at Idaho Elks Rehabilitation where Molly was seen her first year. The Doctor AND the ST said that the first ST was wrong and that Liam was on track for expressive language and 1-3 months behind in receptive, but part of it is basically stubborness.
I am VERY angry at Molly's ST. First off, Molly doesn't even techinically qualify for ST but they do these 30 minute "consults" on her every other week. The ST teaches her a little sign language, sees if her tongue is moving better, and plays for another 10 minutes and BAM the government pays her $90. First off, Molly is fully capable of being verbal (she says Mama, Dada, uh oh, no, Hi. Bye, and Yay consistantly and has many more words that are hit and miss... plus she imitates great.) She can put together two words like "Hi Daddy". She is 15 months old.
The ST is supposed to come out today and I am still SO ANGRY because I believe she is money hungry and only about getting the kids in the program. I wonder if I should cancel until I can calm down. I hate to miss an appointment but I HATE this ST and I am so MAD....
WWYD? I have 2 hours to decide.
