That's so depressing to me! I think they should just leave them alone. They were here first!

I think the people considering it, should be put out in the field and hunted personally...

Ok horses are not native to the Americas, they weren't here first, we brought them here.  Do you like beef like the rest of America?  The wild horses are rife with disease, their population is not the healthy wild animals you all are envisioning.  Like most pests something has to be done.  That is the hard facts of life and survival.

No I don't like beef! And yes they were here! Read a book! And NO, it's not right!

Y'know, there just isn't enough open lanfd to support this many of them.  Thus, it's either a quick bullet or slow starvation.  BLM adoptions are way down, so what are they supposed to do?

I would rather blame the people who breed anything with four legs and a neigh, reagrdless of how poorly conformed/temperamented/useless it is.  Is the slaughter sad, yes, but it's a fact of life.  No more natural predators for the horses + fewer adoptions=WAY too many mustangs.

Uh, no, they are descendants of spanish horses abandoned here/ those who swum here after their ships capsized, well mixed with escaped/turned loose domestic horses.  Some of the herds obviously have PErcheron bloood, for crying out loud.
.  These guys are not the real deal, though they are wonderful.

they want to save and preserve every other endangered species, yet they enganger this one themselves? it's bullsh**. i once adopted a mustang, and brought it home with me. i couldn't even make myself break and ride him, he was so beautiful in his wild nature... eventually he turned into the gentlest creature you'd ever know, but i still couldn't ride him. it just seem unnatural.
