ok  is it just a stage or is it my child,  she has a attitude like a 16 yr old, omg roll eyes, stomping when mad, backtalking, ignoring,  being mean to litrtle sister.  omgggg  it is driving me insane, yes i do punish her for this attitude cause it is very disrespectful.  so im just wondering if it is her or is it a stage

  • Nip it in the butt now, because coming from the Mom of a 13 and 10 year old girls, it doesn't get any better as they get older. Let her know what is not acceptable, and under no circumstances should you tolerate it. Be consistant.

  • My daughter is almost 8... she went through this stage at the beginning of 7. We didn't punish her for it though :o) But we were able to show her HOW to be kind and respectful and that we just do not respond, at all, to a disrespectful nature. We haven't had a problem with her attitude in months.

Also, remember that a child only treats someone with as much respect as they are shown - afterall, 7 is still young enough that the world is in black and white... monkey see, monkey do.
