  • yep, my 5 yr old had a meltdown just last week in the middle of wal-mart. Some smart mouth lady told me I shouldn't let him by with it. I told her to leave the aisle if she so bothered by my parenting. I didn't bother to tell her he was autistic and that it was normal for him to have meltdowns, not after the way she looked at me. They tend to make you feel like your lower than dirt when they have no clue at all.

  • A couple weeks ago, Addison had stuck a plastic golf ball in my purse b/c we were going to the store. (She always takes one toy)

She wouldn't listen and kept running off, so my husband stuck her in the cart as punishment.  She got angry and started yelling "I WANT MY GOLF BALL NOW!"  We got a few dirty looks. I was laughing my butt off! I told her there was no way she was going to get what she wanted with that attitude.  Hubby was pretty embarrassed.

  •  When my DD was younger she use to cough whenever anyone else did, and then laugh hysterically.  One day we were in line at Target and there was a very old man was in a wheelchair in front of us on oxygen coughing.  My DD coughed when he did and then cracked up. The old man and everyone around us were smiling and laughing at her but a woman with the old man, maybe his daughter or aid, kept giving me dirty looks.  I kept telling DD to stop and apologized, explaining she was only 1 year old, but the lady just seemed to get angrier.  Eventually I changed lines, but my DD could still hear the man coughing and she just kept on coughing and laughing, but at least I didn't have to look at the mean lady any more.

  • My 3 year old just ran up to a stranger when we were walking home and gave her a big hug.  Most mortifying moment of my life.

  • Gavin (26 months old) has been going through a phase of being terrified of strangers. If he's walking in the store with us and he sees a stranger in his path, he freezes up for flies back to us for comfort. Well, he was walking with me and my mom a couple weeks back and his grandpa had gone to the bathroom. Well, grandpa was coming back and was like five aisles up coming towards us. We told Gavin to go ahead and go get Grandpa since there was no one there (so he wouldn't run into anyone). He got about two aisles up and a guy came out of one of the aisles. Gavin SCREAMED bloody murder, turned and ran flying by to my leg. I think it startled him more than scared him but I think the whole store heard him scream.

  • Once, my daughter (she was 2 at the time) and I were waiting in line at the store.  There was a young girl in front of us, pretty hot (by my hubby's standards) maybe fresh college age, wearing a slim shirt and a preppy little white miniskirt...kind of like a cheerleader skirt that just barely covers your ass.  Anyway...

My daughter walked right up to her, and pulled this girl's skirt up!

I was emberrassed, but not as much as she was, there was a pretty pink thong under there and my daughter said "look, Mom, is that her butt?"

    LOL!
