Hi ladies. I have a question or two. I just had a miscarriage November 10th. It was quite early in the pregnancy and I did not have a D&C. My hCG level as of last Wednesday (Nov. 19th) was 11. The OB said she thought I probably wouldn't have a period "on time," but I have to say I feel like I'm going to ovulate soon. I'm going to be 40 in a couple of months and don't want to wait to ttc again if I don't have to. The OB said to wait one cycle to "let my body get back to normal," but didn't tell me (and I didn't think to ask at the time) what the risks are if I was to get pregnant right away. Can anyone help me out here? Are there any risks if I was to get pg right away? If so, what are they? Has anyone gotten pg right after a m/c? Did you have a healthy baby? Thanks!
My first son was conceived right after my second miscarriage at age 39. I didn't wait and did not have a period in between (only the miscarriage bleeding). I had a completely uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery. My son is now a very healthy 2 year old. I don't believe there are risks involved with getting pregnant right away. I believe they tell you to wait for your own emotional healing and to be able to know dates (when you ovulated, last menstrual period, etc.) I say - GO FOR IT!!

You dont have to wait. They just say to so you make sure your ok after the loss. I didnt wait to get pregnant after my last miscarriage in July we didnt realyy try to get pregnant either but Im now just about 23 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. Do what feels right for you. Just make she you have stopped bleeding from the miscarriage before trying again.
thsi post hit it right where i wanted it. i jus found today that i m having a miscarriage from a chemical pregnancy. i was wondering the same thing. dr told me to wait a couple of cycles.. but never told me why.. thanks for this post. it has really helped me out. i do know sometimes when u have a d and c they say to wait so ur body can heal itself, but thanks again for thsi post.. good luck on ttc
