I'm just curious what is the longest time you gone without seeing your trucker? I'm concerning marrying a trucker but I'm not sure the longest he might be gone.  He tells me it depends..... Depends on what??? IDK i'm the type of person that needs to know all the info before I make a decision and understand more about the trucking world.

2 weeks is the longest my husband was gone and then he was home for not quite 2 days and then gone for another 2 weeks so essentially home a maximum of 2 days a month=24 days out of 365 is all I saw him. Yeah, that's not a lot. He found a job working with a dump truck company making the same thing he was making OTR and he's home every night. Granted he's pretty tired because he works all day but I get to really spend time with him for an hour or two at night and then every weekend. When he was OTR, most of his home time consisted of sleeping in his own bed. Of course, they can sleep in their trucks but my husband said it wasn't as comfy and it was harder to sleep if he had a team driver and the truck was always moving. It really just depends on the situation/company, etc. My husband also drove for a flatbed company OTR and was home every weekend but had to leave out sometime on Sunday depending on where he was heading.

If you love him, I don't see why you would let his job prevent you from marrying him, but that is just my opinion, love conquers all, afterall.
Anyway, my hubby is out 3 weeks, home 3 days. Sometimes if money is tight or there is a specific occasion coming up (like our son's regional taekwondo tournament) he will stay out longer to be sure he is home for it. The longest he has stayed out with this company has been 5 weeks.
It just all really depends on money, the company, and the way loads are. There are times he gets a night at home here and there, btu those are extra and only happen as loads permit.

Little over six weeks..but that was because his truck broke down back east and they could not get it fixed right the first time so he was broken down off and on for almost 2 weeks.  Finally Peterbilt figured out it was a wired grounding out against the motor and the truck was great from then on. If you love it do it...absence makes the heart grow fonder right?

Well its a time thing. I do love him but he has been gone over 11 weeks and he keeps saying you soon. It was my assumption it wouldn't be more than 4-6 weeks. Twice as long as I can handle. I just don't understand how to get the attention and affection I am lacking on these long too long hauls. I'm not happy because his truck also broke down which he owns so it cost soooo much to fix. Another issue from my understanding is it is difficult to get good load to where I live. So I just don't know where I stand and is this going to be a snap shot of my whole marriage? 12 or more weeks without him.... Idk if I can handle this long of a gap without an end in sight.

There are ways to get the things you want, need and crave from your man while he is gone. For example, mine sends me flowers every so often (it takes him three clicks n the computer from his 1-800-flowers account) or while he is on the road if he sees something in a truck stop that makes him think of me, he will get it and send it to me (most truck stops have a way to send packages, and he keeps a small UPS, FedEx and USPS box in his office supply stash) he has sent me anything from a keychain to a stuffed animal. I collect shot glasses and he will pick up one for me if he goes to a new state. Adult time over the phone is always fun, tease him during the day and then when he parks he won't be able to wait to call you to have a little fun. If he is stopped and his lap top can get online, let him web cam with the family during dinner, take lots and lots of pics during the time he is gone and email them to him.
Remember, it is easier on us now then it was even 10 or 15 years ago. Every driver now has a cell phone and many have lap tops with internet ability.
