  • Probably one of the most important things a trucker will need is a Truck Stop Guide. It lists what exit on what road and in what state!! This is a big help especially if he or she needs a place to stop and is in a state or on a road that they do not normally run. This has come in handy time and time again when hubby and I ran team.

Chains in the winter, snacks, tool box, rainX, clothes, towels, drinks, bedding, boots (for the winter mainly), coat (at all times), extra log books, pens, pencils, notebook paper, sticky pads, flashlight, extra light bulbs for the headlights, cell phone, computer, something to keep food cold in, mini fridge that plugs into the cigarette lighter, unless he is lucky enough to have a fridge in the truck. We have a fridge that was part of the truck when we got it, TV, DVD or VCR, magazines, letter or card from you to let him know that you will be there when he comes home. The one thing that my hubby has in his truck is a guardian angel pin. That has come in handy more than you know. Him and his codriver were going along I20 in Texas and hubby was asleep when the steering shaft just fell off. The codriver had no way of steering so he pulled the trailer brake and they ended in the middle of the ditch between EB and WB, but they were upright on all 18 wheels and no damage to the truck!! Boy were they lucky. That guardian angel pin was in that truck when that happened. I could probably go on. I used to have to make sure we had all this when we went out. I miss the road, but I may get to do some driving this summer part time with hubby!! I can't wait...

DEFINITE MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT EVER LET HIM FORGET HIS FUEL CARD, DRIVERS LICENSE AND DOT PHYSICAL!!! THOSE HE HAS TO HAVE. (Along with his permit book).

  • Oh goodness, where do I start.  For starters, I pack his truck so I know he has everything he could possibly need while on the road for a month.  He has laundry soap, softner sheets, laundry bag for dirty clothes, about 40 pair of socks, undershorts, shorts, shirts, 2 jackets (one if it gets chilly and one that is waterproof). 3 hats, a pair of boots cuz some of the yards are muddy.  Metricasston of food. Truck stop food is super expensive and he likes to try and eat healthy. Log books. Paper towel, window cleaner, little bags for garbage, 2 pillows, blanket, clock, can opener, plug in cooler, microwave, extra smokes, CB, satillite radio, drinks, towels and washing up cloths, his shower bag, snacks. Pens, tire gauge, the Enforcer(cool gadget that locks air and trailer brakes). CD's, tv with DVD player. movies, laptop, cell phone, headset, and since He dont like dolls, this time when he came home and I packed his truck up again, I went and got a doll and put it in his microwave just to freak him out. Hahahaha. Boy did I hear it for that one!  But it was soooooo worth it!  I am sure there is more but I cant remember...

  • I can answer this now.  DH is still training though.

They have food, lots of food.  Slimfast, fiber bars, water, tuna, peanut butter, bread, crackers, canned fruits and veggies.

DH has clothes, laptop, notebook, pens, pencils, bible, flashlight, rain coat, umbrella, laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, razor, shaving cream, baby wipes (btw, trainer and DH both love).  Cell phone, charger, bluetooth, bluetooth charger, MP3 player, CD's and DVD's.
