I think with having kids spaced a part is good because then the oldest doesn't rely on you so much. Like mine he was eight when I had his sister so he was more dependant and he was able to make his own snack when hungry, he was able to dress himself and take baths all on his own and this gave me the chance to tend to the baby more rather than having a younger child close in age that needed help with everything. So it also gave me more time to spend with my son, like when she took naps I was able to read with him play games and help with homework. So in a way it is good and for me I would not change a thing, I love my age difference in my kids.

I know exactly how you feel! My oldest was 12 and a half when Nicole was born! She is very helpful, she watches her sister whenever I ask her to, I can even get a quick nap in!

Sammy was 8 when Chris was born and it was so nice to have her able to help by getting a diaper or whatever I needed so I did not have to get up if he fell asleep in my arms. I would not trade the age difference at all. I do see a few troubles now as she is gone and he misses her, but she and her friends do play with him, which is great.
