by TiffanyMarie26 on Aug. 31, 2008 at 1:47 PMOne of my favorite things about my master bdrm is that it is downstairs and separate from the other bedrooms which are upstairs. I also like that we have a door that leads out to the back patio....and I love our closet and master bath! I didn't put pics of those in case there will be a post for them later. I like that the room has lots of windows! I haven't done any painting or put anything on the walls yet. I also plan on getting the TV mounted on the wall soon

by caham on Sep. 3, 2008 at 3:20 PMNot many want to share their master bedrooms.... I only have pics of my master that were taken several years ago at Christmas time. So ignore the garland:
My hubby made our headboard (he made a footboard to but we can't see the fireplace with the footboard attached to the bed). I saw a bed that looked just like this at Eddie Bauer Home for a rediculous price. This room was done a STRICT budget! My curtain sheers and scarfs are from Domestications, nightstands, lamps and accessories are Target, pics on the fireplace were a splurge but they are framed in cheap frames. The fireplace was salvaged from my brother - he tore it out of his old house and was going to burn it! We put in the electric fireplace, hubby did the granite tile around the fireplace and then we used my brothers mantle. ![]() |

by auntietotty on Sep. 4, 2008 at 4:55 PMFirst I want to say you all have such lovely rooms! Im almost embarrassed to put mine on here....everything is so old. Needless to say, my bedroom is never my top priority for buying and decorating.....hub works nights, so we dont really need a "sanctuary" type place to go... Its mostly done in roses...cabbage roses on the comforter, rose prints on the walls..and the lamps...those were my grandmas. Oh..and I do plan on getting new hardware for the chest of drawers.

by Sudster40plus on Sep. 5, 2008 at 3:19 AMI am just sort of trying a new bedding set that I had found, but the photos are of what was previously on till a week ago. There are many things I do NOT like about the room. First the king bed is too large, a queen would be preferred, by both of us. Same with the headboard. It is slightly taller then the ledge that is all around the room. It is at ground level, meaning the windows are slightly above ground, its a split level home, and the master bedroom was made down there and is the largest of the 3 bedrooms. The only thing I really like, is there was a unfinished walk in closet, meaning down to the cement blocks, We did finish that off, and it is huge. Its a 10X12 walk in closet now. Unfortunately I have way to many clothes and it is still not large enough. But we keep our dressers etc in the walk in closet, which gives room for the king size bed. I am one to redecorate often, so now I have gone with darker comforter set, as the room seemed to not have much color to it. But it is shown in the gold for the photos.
The previous owners put the wall outlets up to high, so it looks really tacky to see electric cords.
You can see on the left the entry to the walk in closet. We have no door there, I wanted to add a french door, but haven't done it yet.
For privacy we have white fabric curtains that we just open or pull close behind the sheers. I have now just added darker curtains to each side, as it is too plain. The flowers there are from our wedding a year ago, we did a unity flower service, beings it was held outside on our deck, and was windy, the small white/pink roses represent each of us having children/and new grandchildren, and the two dark red roses are represent both of us, and the unity of both families. We have the sand and the rocks in the vase also, that represent ?? Dah, brain dead at this moment....lol I am a big fan of any of Steve Hanks art, so I have many prints on one wall, of his artwork.
And a small photo showing just a little of the closet, it has rods doubled on all 4 sides. and then shelves in two of the corner walls.
And then on the outside above the door I have some word art with family photos near them.
Arghhh, the ceiling needs some work I see. Dont notice it was this bad till the photo is blown up....lol We have to change the doors to 6 panel doors, and do some trim work. It is definately a progress still being worked on, occasionally. I will have to take some photos of the darker colored comforter set that I have on now, it does give the room more of a pop of color now.
Sudster40plus I have so many important people in my life, but there is always room for more! |
