i'm not good at making things really...but my hubby is and so is my FIL.
for christmas last year, my FIL had my daughter (she was 11) help her make a wall plaque with hooks to hang coats / back packs from. it is made out of iron (he is a blacksmith). he also has made several candle holders for me with iron too.
and he also works with wood...so he built the railings for our house and has turned several bowls for us to use (both decorative and functional).
my husband does awesome leather working and he is also great at sewing. he made curtains for our family room (and he made me a leather purse bc i couldn't find one i like.....but i guess that doesn't count as decor)
I'm not beyond altering something, but it would have to be simple. I make all of my curtains and a few other things. When it comes to having "the look" I want I will search until I find it.
I'll make it if its cheaper than buying it. But most of the time its easier for me to buy it on sale.
I just buy things as they are- I am not good at the crafty.
I'm not very crafty, so buy.
i love making or redoing things. but usually cause its cheaper. I find amazing stuff i love but its always miles away from the budget it lol
I am the least crafty person so I buy.
I am getting to the point of going to do that, I just have to find the time and money for it.
I have been crafting things to go with my decor for a while now. Here are a few pics:
