What are your thoughts?
How about the look of wall coverings if any, pretty prints of wallpaper, wallpaper trimmings for edges to soften a room's parameters perhaps matte paint, semi-gloss, flat or water-based paints on walls and what colors do you find soothing, pretty, comfortable to the eye?
What wall coverings do you think are warm and cozy or elegant?
i love being here; thank you for spending time with me and sharing your thoughts.
I don't like wallpaper cause' its a pain to take down unless its easier than it used to be. I like paint, but won't do it myself cause I hate painting.
I think some wallpaper is elegant and beautiful... I prefer a tone on tone wallpaper... where you can only see the pattern in certain light...or even some stripes are cute.... there are plenty of choices that are not "grandma's" diningroom...LOL

The first picture is pretty!

I also am not a fan of wallpaper and ESPECIALLY borders. I do like the pics one of the other posters found, but you can easily get those same looks with paint!

I think there's a place for both. It's best to start with a good paint finish, a washable finish first. Have a color scheme over all. Paint can get boring, so faux finishes can go far to add depth to a space. Wallpaper is the last step, to add pattern, or an art form to a space. Then there's the natural textures like grass cloth that can't be achieved with paint.. I hung a grass cloth over my parents paneling, and it lasted and looked good for over 15 years!
I like neutral paints. I'll never hang another border. I love the current modern wallpapers that go on feature walls. I love the second one SamsMom found as I'm way into metallics right now. I'd never again do a whole room in wallpaper. I've spent hundreds of hours stripping wallpaper in my current house and can think of much better ways to spend what time I have left!
