I just decided i want to put a "vinyl quote" above my tv/entertainment center. I picked this quote...
FAMILY
We May Not Have It All Together, But
Together We Have It All
Now the question is which placement would look better...
I have a wooden "family" thingy that I could hang on the wall and then put the quote below it somehow or I can have The word "family" made in vinyl and have it in a larger/different font as the saying
OR
I can leave the wooden family thingy to sit on top of the entertainment center and just put the quote on the wall...
Suggestions please..Here is a picture of it on top of the entertainment center and a pic of it on the wall. I had my daughter hold it up so I can move it anywhere really

UPDATE: Dh made and applied my decal to the wall...I love how it turned out!

I told you in the other group that it's going to look great! I was wondering if you DID move the end table, would the game chair fit into that corner and just be brought out when they use it? I have one in the LR too...and my oldest has on e in his bedroom. A decorating dream, aren't they???LOL!
Just so ya know, the pic above isn't the actual decal, it's just what i did on the computer. The actual decal is going to be a little smaller but should look the same for the most part. The "Family won't be as long do to sizing issues. My husband is making it for me and we both agreed that it needed to be scaled down in size so the letters don't come out all distorted.
As for the corner dilemma, I think I'm going to leave the table where it's at because it does get used. The game chair..UGH the game chair..lol that will just stay put for now.
I'm going to post another pic later on today or tonight of that corner, I'll try to get a good angle so you can see how disproportionate that area is, I HATE my living room I'm just trying to make it all work somehow.
Thanks for all your input

Ok, JerseyGirl..Here are the pics of that corner and the other parts of my living room. Now you can see why I'm having such a problem.
Also the corner where my birds are, I hate that corner. Would putting 2 matching lamps on each side table look ok? Or maybe just a lamp on the end table where the birds are and then just a tall vase in the other corner or a standing lamp?? Also my windows are not very big, I have the curtain rod extended pretty far out to take up some of the stupid uneven wall space.
So if anyone has any suggestions for my "CORNERS" please give em! ;) Please excuse any mess you see and the wires..the living room isn't completely put back together from painting.

Your decal turned out great! My two cents on your "problem corners"...
I would buy 2 large matching table lamps and put one on each end table. The table lamp closest to the entertainment center is way too small. Go tall and bulky with them, but be sure not to buy buffet lamps, which will look wrong (buffet lamps are very tall and skinny). I'd be sure to go with creamy, beige or off white shades instead of stark white to coordinate with your sofas. Adding the lamps will provide balance and symmetry to the overall look of the room.
I would move the bird cage to the other corner opposite where it is now and fill the empty space where it used to be with a tall floor plant. The bird cage looks good on the table it's currently on. That's all I would put in that corner, except for maybe a floor lamp. I wouldn't put it catty cornered. I'd put it straight on the wall with the doorway visible in this pic. Make that corner all about the bird with none of the other little tables and things there now. In fact, I'd probably move the wooden wall shelf thingy to the other side of the visible doorway next to the new tall floor plant (by the thermometer). That way, you'll be accomodating the bird cage but giving it its own corner and some separation from the seating area.
I would add some patterned toss pillows to the sofa and loveseat. Right now everything is solid, so pattern will add texture and interest. When budget allows, I would also change out the drapery rod to a black one. The white rod stands out too much. I think changing out the white sheers for a natural bamboo type shade at some point would look fantastic too. It will add texture and update the look of the space. They sell large ones like you would need at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. for under $100.00. I like how you've extended the window size visually by mounting the rod at the ceiling and extending it out from the sides a bit...that's a great designers trick. Leave the burgundy sheers layered on top of the new shade.
Thanks for your advice...
I agree with finding 2 lamps... the ones I have now are 11 yrs old! Lamps are sooo expensive!
I did move the birds to the other side like you suggested but I needed to leave the wooden shelf where it is because hubby is not going to move it again..lol But I took the birds off the table they were on because it was way to big in the "new" corner..I just put the legs back on their cage and placed it in the corner. I left the table in the corner that the birds use to sit on and put a plant on it, well it's more like a tree type thing. Anywho it's what i have until I can find another floor plant. Honesty it looks better already!
The curtains I have now are actually brown & tan not burgundy & white and I agree with the rod.. I'll put that on the list as well. Pillows...I have a love/hate relationship with pillows on the couch. I think because my couch and loveseat are leather I'm afraid the pillows will always slip down or off the couch. How many and what size would you recommend?
