do visitors have to remove shoes upon entering your home?, or just simply wipe their feet?

OFF!  I am really anal about this....we don't wear shoes in the house and I politely ask all visitors to remove theirs....luckily, no one has ever refused or had an issue with it.  If a repairman has to come in, I have the shoe booties they have to put on.

They need to wipe their feet. I would never ask someone entering my home to take off their shoes- they may have foot odor or something else that may be embarrassing to them and I don't want to put them in an awkward situation.

I think most people would be smart enough to wipe their feet before entering the home. If I were asked to remove my shoes, I would, but I would decline any more invitations to the home.I realize  that it is your home and you can do as you see fit for your home, it is just place that would make me uncomfortable.
