rearranging playroom/family room/dining UPDATED
on the left side of the house we have a long room that is supposed to be a family room and formal dining room (the ceiling sections its off. looks like a hidden metal beam). we are only here for 36 months so we are not going to get a formal dining set however our hutch for our kitchen table is in there (it wouldnt fit in our kitchen due to a light switch being about 6" too far right.) it also has a credenza in there because i dont know where to put it. it might even go down into storage.
between the dining area and playroom against the wall of the stairs is a couch (it use to be in our living room but we went otu and bought everything new so now its a junk couch that will most likely get thrown away for the next move.). above the couch in the middle of the wall is our thermastat (stupid place for it). across for it is my girls desk. and then in the front of the room is there playroom.
my problem is you can see their playroom from the front door. it gets VERY messy in there and well its embarrassing to open the door and people see mess. i was thinking about setting up the playroom as whats its supposed to be (family room.) we have green wing chairs down in the basement and end tables. and then move the playroom to the back of the house where the dining room is. i just dont know how to set it up. i would want the hutch more so in the family room because it can shake when the kids run past it.
how do i set this up and make it look nice?
