Help us with our 1/2 wall please!

So, we have this skinny 1/2 wall that creates our entryway. Other side is the kitchen. It is so BLAH & serves no real purpose.

I'd love to take it out but the floor is different on each side & we can't afford new floors so it would look even worse without the wall.

I'd love to have one side with doors or shelves but it's too skinny.

So, I'll settle for 'sprucing' it up - but how?! What can we do to make it something pleasant/classy to look at?

Bad lighting but the wall is off-white, kitchen floor hunter green, hallway light laminate wood.

Yes I know the flooring sucks but that's a future project.

The only thing it's good for is Christmas decorating, lol

What about removing it and using the top wood to make a transit onto the tile floor. Let me see if I can find a photo

Could you add something that goes from the ceiling to the top of the wall?

In my house the previous owners removed the wall that was between the front room and the small dining room. Instead of removing it completely they left the outline and then put a decorative metal thing in it.

If you removed it I don't think buying a few small laminate pieces to fit in there would be that expensive. Or what about installing lights over top?

This sounds interesting, but I can't quite picture what you mean...

You can do what fits your style. I really like industrial look for hanging lights.
