The trim? We just bought this house. All the pics are from the previous owner. I will be painting the walls. Right now the trim is all golden oak and I really don't care for the color. I would like to paint it white. What do you think??

White would pop nicely against other colors.

Once  you paint it, you have to keep it painted, just be sure that is what you want.     We had ours stained to a darker color.

If you don't like it, paint it. because otherwise it will influence all of your decorating choices/

However, if you choose to paint, do a good job.  Crappy painted trim is worse

Me again.

Not a fan of oak, though I do like Golden Oak with black accents.

We had oak trim around the windows in our previous house and I painted it a cream color. LOVED it!

White will change the style for sure! Make sure to sand first and add a primer that's not latex for adhesion. I like BIN alcohol base, but one has to work fast with it. The brushes clean up with household ammonia and if you didn't sand well enough it will still stick.

If you paint the trim then you will need to paint the fireplace and built ins or it will look as an afterthought.  Is your furniture stained or painted?

I kinda prefer the oak trim. You can always change it out. We have white trim currenty and it's a pain to clean.

I think you should hire a painter.. painting trim well is an art.. and yes, if you want it painted, do it right once... if you WANT to try it in the kids room as a "try" then go for it... but youre painting it may not be the nice, crisp clean profressional look you're hoping for... and white "hiughlights" and it will be noticeable if its sketchy...

at least get an estimate for the painter... estimates are free..
