**Update**

Her u/s confirmed that she is having another boy...he wasn't afraid to show off his goods...lol

Thanks for the feedback ladies.
She's going with Drake Robert for sure. :)

OP:

My best friend is expecting her 3rd child in June. She has a very unusual naming style. She and the kids' father recently separated so she won't be forced into naming him/her something she's not into this time.

Her 2 boys are:

Dorien Cutler (after 2 bodybuilders...obviously the fathers choice)
and
Dimitri Vladimir (after the Russian President...I dunno...lol)

They're unusual names but then again her ex is an unusual guy. lol

She finds out the baby's gender next Monday and these are the names she's considering.

Boy: Drake Robert or Draken Robert (Robert is her grandpa)
Girl: Kaia Marie (Marie is after her sister) (Kaia is prn. Ky-uh) (She liked the spelling of Kaya but doesn't want it prn. Kay-uh)

Here are my questions...You can be honest, brutally honest or both...

1. Do you like these names?
2. Do you have any suggestions for an unusual or unpopular boys name beginning with "D"?
3. How would you pronounce Kaia? Any other spelling suggestions?
4. Or if you want to throw any native american girls names my way, I can pass them on to her. (The kids' dad is native american).

Thanks kindly in advance!

I really like Drake Robert.  Not too keen on Kaia.  Her other 2 boys names are cute. I went to school with a boy named Dorian and Dimitri is very unique.

Kaia is a great name! Drake is okay

2. Do you have any suggestions for an unusual or unpopular boys name beginning with "D"?
Deacon, Doran.. they're both greek names like both of her boys' names.

3. How would you pronounce Kaia? Any other spelling suggestions?
I would pronounce it just as she is. The spelling is great, too. Kya(h), may be, if it works for you.

4. Or if you want to throw any native american girls names my way, I can pass them on to her. (The kids' dad is native american).
I went to school with a girl named "Chenoa".. it means "dove" Although she pronounced it sha-no-ah.. which I'm not sure is the correct pronunciation, but either is beautiful.

Good luck! I hope these suggestions work for her!

Personally I do not care for Draken, but Drake is nice.  I have always like the name Declan.

Kaia-I like the spelling.  It seems straight forward.
