my husband and i really like it but others don't i know i should not listen to others but i don't want my baby to be picked on

for a boy: tristan kiefer

we dont know the sex yet but we loved the name do you think its to wierd?

I like the name tristan..kiefer is a little strange but it's your baby.  I wouldn't worry about when he got to school because how many of the kids would know his middle name anyway.

The important question is if you and your husband like the name.  If others don't like it I would listen to what they have to say (with a grain of salt)they may have some insight that you haven't thought of.  Also consider if they have similar name styles. But saying that I also say you need to do what you want.  No one liked our sons name when we decided on the name.  I took their concerns into consideration and then mad our decision that it was the right name for our boy.

Personally I don't see why Tristan would lend itself to teasing.  it is  name that has been used for little boys for a while now.

IMHO It does really sound like a girls name, not terribly masculine.  He might get a bit of teasing but you can't always worry about that.
