So Robert Michael was suggested. Robert is my SO's biological dad (who he's never met) also my uncle and SO's step grandfather. Michael is my dad, SO's mom's first husband, and used a lot in my side of the family. (Also - my sister's hubby and a lot of my ex bf's) And I dunno if it's appropriate.

I think that's just too much "history" if you will.

My dad's middle name is Paul.

My daughter's father's name is Paul Raymond. (He is a junior).

My great grandfather (dad's side) is Raymond Paul.

Paul's grandma and my grandma are Ruth Ann.

There are 3 generations of John's on Paul's side of the family. And it seems like everyone likes to name their sons after them.

I would think with it being BIL's name and ex-boyfriend's name and mom's ex-hubby's name... it just may be too much. Just my opinion.

I would think that there is too much history there.  And you don't sound very excited about the name either.  I think I would come up with a completely different name.
