Forever Sand Castle Preschool Craft

What You Need

3 cups of sand (either from the beach or playground)
1 ¾ cups of Cornstarch
1 ½ cups of Water
Pot to Cook it in – preferably an old one
Stirring Spoon
Optional – molds for sand castles and cooking oil spray

How To Make It

Step One:
Mix the sand, cornstarch and water together in a cooking pot.

Step Two:
Adult - Cook over low heat while stirring constantly until thickened. Then remove from heat and let it cool.

Step Three:
When cool, spoon it out onto your work surface and begin to shape your castle any way you choose. Optional: spray plastic sand castle molds with cooking spray to use for making your castle.

Step Four:
Let your castle dry for a day or so and you have a forever sand castle!

Variations

You can use this mixture to create any other sort of sculpture as well. Make sea shells, statues, bowls, etc.
