Gardening is a wonderful thing for children to experience. Make it organic and you are doing your child a double-good by teaching these skills and values. Once your child tastes that first summer sweet strawberry or watches their very own tree grow or pulls a crisp orange carrot or eats a fresh sweet tomato, they'll probably get hooked early on, even if they resist the work now. Get in the garden! Get dirty, and let your little ones help!
I love gardening chemical free. Since I have begun my gardening adventures I have learned a lot and I still have a ton more to learn. There are all sorts of books about gardening and while the books are helpful they can sometimes be confusing, complicated and overwhelming. There is something to be said for discussing it with other gardeners and sharing tips, tricks, inspiration and ideas.
There will be focus on trees, plants, flowers, shrubs, herbs, fruits and vegetables that will grow well here in the Pacific Northwest, specifically.

Who knows, you might even make new friends or find local people to swap plants, starts or seeds with!
