I'm interested in which is the safer seat, the Britax Boulevard or the Recaro Signo Convertible Seat. We currently have a Britax Boulevard but will need to purchase a second car seat in the near future for her to ride in daddy's car. We love the Boulevard but we want her to be as safe as possible. She is 2 years old and has just hit 20lbs so she's still RF. I was curious about the Recaro because it FF until 70lbs. Are there any other comparable seats?

I'm not a huge fan of the Signo. Its not real user friendly, and for the price you might as well buy a Britax. I don't see any reason to not get another BV if you can. As for other seats, you could consider the Learning Curve True Fit, and the Evenflo Triumph Adavance.

Gotta agree with Jen. I haven't had a chance to deal with the Signo, but the como did pose a lot of questions. I thought it was oddly shaped, install with the seatbelt RFing CAN be a challenge and the only way I see a child weighing 70lbs fitting in that seat is if their upper body is shaped like a short triangle.
When I was searching for our first convertible seat, it was between Britax and Recaro. Everyone told me Britax but I thought the seat was kind of ugly so I decided to go with Recaro...big mistake. I purchased the Como, pretty similar to Signo, and although the seat is nice outside of the car, I had a rough time using the seat. The seat itself is very plush and comfortable. The base is so high, though, that it was even too tall for our Grand caravan. I had trouble getting my son out of the seat without hitting his head on the roof and he was only 5 months old at the time. We used the seat for about 2 wks and bought a Marathon...lol. I should have gone with that in the first place. I wasted $249. The seat is just sitting in our closet. One big reason I didn't get the Signo is because the head pillows are not detachable and they are huge. I could see this being uncomfortable for older children. They are removable on the Como though. Anyways, if the seat didn't have such a high base, it would have worked out a bit better. I also don't see it fitting a 70lb child, unless the child is on the heavier side, but then the seat might be too narrow for that heavier child. I would go with either the Britax or Compass True fit. I have both and love them!
