Moving on

Had a bad call last week. It was a doa motorcycle account, and a friend of mine. So I'm coming off the street for the time being. I just can't put another friend of mine in a body bag.
So I put an application in to a alarm company that has a group of dispatchers that are EMTs that handle strictly medical calls. My interview is Monday and I'm excited. It will be a nice change of pace and in a few months if I miss the street I will put in an application to the bigger company in the city. Where I know virtually no one. Wish me luck...

aww that sucks hun. my company has the contract w/ the medical examiners office so we pick up anyone who dies in the county and i can't tell you how many people i picked up that i knew. it really sucked. Good luck w/ the other company though.

We have a similar contract with the MEs office, but in 2 years I've never while working transported anyone I personally knew. This was a first for me and i haven't been able to shake it yet. Thank you!!!

hope you got the job, it's hard when it's someone you know. I worked in a different state and that helped. Hopefully things will get a bit easier.

I did get the job thank you. I have another interview with the biggest hospital in our area tomorrow for a nursing assistant. So we shall see.
