Hi, I'd like to introduce myself:   I'm a 15 1/2 year veteran volly fif/1st responder and also an EMT/Dispatcher for a paid ambulance service.  I'm in a committed (or maybe we SHOULD be committed - LOL!) relationship to another volly ff/1st responder (and station chief) that's lasted 10 years, multiple callouts and too many freakin' benefits to mention.  He pulls rank on me on fires (darn it) and I overrule him on medical, so it evens out in the end!  We have one beautiful 7 1/2 y/o daughter who rode in her first firetruck during a parade when she was 3 mths old and has been rollin' with us every since.  We don't make a point of taking her on calls, for obvious reasons, but she's made a few due to us being out in our POV when the page went out.  She was caught at school in kindergarten teaching her classmates how to do CPR on a baby doll and she's been bored out of her mind every year when the fire trucks and ambulances come to the school for Fire Prevention, etc.  I'm just another struggling mom trying to meet my personal, professional and volunteer obligations while maintaining some semblance of sanity!

I guess I should introduce myself.  I have been a EMT-B for 9 years and I have been dispatching for 2 years.  I started out as a volly, but then we had to merge with a paid company due to lack of funds.  My husband is a paramedic and we hae been marries for 2 years.  WE live outside of Pittsburgh, PA and have four children.

Hey there... I have been a Paramedic for 2 years now... recently became a mommy for the first time to my litte angle boy, Levi... he was born on March 22nd. I work for a very busy service in Des Moines, IA. I was working full time but fortunantly I am going to go back PRN. My hubby is also a paramedic which makes life easier (and harder sometimes due to the hours) because he understands what it is like. I love him and our baby more than anything. I love EMS as well so Im not sure how much more perfect my life could get!

I figured I'd jump in and introduce myself too.

I am Rachel, a 26 year old mommy and paramedic. I have 2 beautiful boys, Riley age 3 and Jacob who's almost 9 months! I am happily married to my best friend, Jim.

Jim and I are both career paramedics with a busy commercial agency in Rochester, NY.  We actually work in a sattellite program though, so our job consists mostly of providing ALS to smaller volunteer/BLS-only orginizations.
We are also volunteers of our local FD/Amb corps. He is a fire lieutenant and I am the chief paramedic.

Nice to meet you all!  Laughing

Hi I'm Karen.  I've been a Paramedic for 12 years now in a fairly large service outside of Raleigh NC.  I'm a first time mommy and have a 7 month old son, AJ.  Working 24 hour shifts is good and bad.  I get to spend a lot of time with him, but on the days that I do work...I'm sad.

My husband, Jason, has a "regular job" and doesnt always understand my job or the hours.  We will be married 4 yrs in Oct.

I'm excited to get to know other mom's with this crazy profession!

I am a EMT/Dispatcher that started out in this business thanks to my parents. I first became a first responder @ the age of 15 for a small town squad and have been involved ever since. I got my dispatch license about 2 years ago and now work for a private company in Chicago. I really miss working on a rig and would love to get into one. I am a mom of two beautiful girls ages 15 and 10 so I juggle working full time (13 hr days) and homeschooling my youngest and then juggling all of the running around that goes along with having a teenager with no license. I love it though and would not change expect being able to be on the streets more.
