I've been on the hunt for two weeks now and NOBODY around here is hiring (Chattanooga) !!! Last year at this time there were SO many openings...part of the reason I decided to go ahead and get my certification! I went through the program, busted my butt, made straight A's, passed all my licensing exams on the first try, and I can't get a job??? What do I do?! Anyone have any ideas???? This is just frustrating!

horrible.  Is there a specific palce that you want to work, or anywhere in general?  If there is a specific place, you could put a volunteer app in and do like 6 hours a week until they are hiring and then you would have a better chance of getting hired.

I would recommend finding a volunteer service to work with at least while you are on the job search. I know a lot of places around here want 911 expierence. Also you will be able to keep up on your skills and maybe learn a few new ones too. Congrats on passing on the first try, it can be a big PIA.

Also a lot of hospitals use EMTs in the ER. Maybe check there. Good luck in your search.

Still nothing. I'm kinda stressing out! I put a lot of time and money into the EMT program and I really want to start using what I learned!!!! The paramedic class at my school is getting ready to test this week so I'm HOPING that once they all bump up to jobs as medics that some EMT-IV positions will start opening up. I'm really hoping to get in there soon!!!! In the meantime, I have 13 applications in at our major hospital here...something HAS to open up soon!!!!
