I find that as much as I look forward to the holidays or special occasions, I have a negative thought in the back of my mind because there is always an issue with what time we get the kids and what time she gets them. Anyone else feel that way?

I know what you mean. I have two step-children and I just had my own baby girl. The holiday schedule is so confusing. In the divorce my husband and his ex split up every little holiday (even president day), so we need to make sure that we give her the kids on her holidays and we pick them up on ours. We pick up and drop off the kids at 7:30am so that leaves us no time to spend with them on certain holidays, like mother's day and Christmas. I think there should be a Step-Parent's Day. I have been part of their lives for the past 5 years, shouldn't I get a day as well. I understand that she is their mother so they should spend time with her on Mother's day, but don't I also count as their mother. I feed them put them to bed, and take care of them when they are sick. I do all of that for them because I love them, I don't need a day but it would be nice right?
